Hi all, Is anyone other than me having a problem with the zoom feature on NCAP? I can log on ok, and select an image. But, when I go to use the zoom feature, nothing happens. I've tried a number of times today with no luck. Anyone else? Charles
Hi Charles, I have been experiencing this issue on my work PC for over six months now but just assumed that Java was turned off on the network. At home, I have no issue with my default Firefox browser (ver. 50.1.0), but Internet Explorer (ver. 11.0.38) also on my home PC is refusing to show the zoomed image. I'll check which browser we have at work tomorrow; IIRC, its Google Chrome. I'll also email Kevin in NCAP and let him know there is an issue. In the meantime, if anyone else with a paid NCAP account experiences the same issue, please log it here and include you browser name and version. Thanks, Pat NB: You can only zoom images if you are logged in to your paid NCAP account.
Thanks guys, for the feedback and suggestions. I used to use Internet Explorer, but dumped it about 6 mos ago due to frequent problems of various natures. I have been using Google Chrome for several months now and have had few problems. Just a day or so ago I ran into the issue with the zoom on NCAP. Somewhat of a mystery. I just tried IE and Chrome again, no better. I'll give it a little while and then maybe switch to something else. Thanks, Charles
Hi All, I logged in to my laptops Microsoft Edge, and had no problems once I logged into my NCAP account... I also tried Google Chrome and had no problems there either... I know that Pat helped me once when I had a problem with it by telling me to delete my browser history or something like that. I forget exactly what it was. I hope things work out for you Charles!
Charles, If its Chrome you are using and having the issue with, try clearing the cache as per instructions here. Regards, Pat
Hi all, I do appreciate all the help/suggestions. I did do the cache clearing procedure as suggested, as well as updating the Java program. Still no zoom ability. I will try to contact NCAP to see if they have any suggestions. Thanks again. Charles
Problem solved. On the contact form sent to NARA explaining my dilemma, at the end I queried whether my paid subscription might have expired. It had, just a short time ago! I understand that NARA notifies subscribers ahead of time, but my guess is that the notification was determined to be spam and I just missed it. All ok now. Again, thanks for the help. Charles
