My name is Randy Fuhrman. My dad was Harold Fuhrman who was a member of Division Headquarters of the 101st airborne during World War 2. He participated in the Keokuk mission on D-Day. I was hoping to find more information on him and his participation and add what little I can to the forum.

    Hi Randy,
    Welcome to the forum!
I am sure the "MSG John McCarthy" and "Mission Keokuk" threads will be of some immediate interest and that they might be of some help to you.

    Respectfully,
    John

    Randy,

    Welcome to the Forum.

My father, MSGT John T. McCarthy, was one of the senior NCOs in the 101st AB Division HQ Company. I am sure our fathers met or worked together at some point in the days leading up to D-Day. Like your father, my father participated in the Keokuk Mission in Chalk #4. If you haven’t already found the Airborne Troop Carrier website as part of your research, the link below has a picture of your father’s glider as it prepared for departure from the Aldermaston Airfield on the evening of June 6th.

    Again, welcome.

    R/Kevin

I sent you a PM Kevin. Thanks for the welcome. On the photo you mentioned do you know whether the gliders were loaded at the time of the photo?
