Just noticed the star on the map below next to the RJ I identified as C-2 just above with an arrow. This map is at the university library here.
Pat, In the source documents, you'll notice that Capt. Siegel (Navigator in Group Lead Aircraft) noted in one of his reports that Capt. Stach, who was shot down with his crew near the Mezidon M/Y was leading Box II. You'll also notice that both the 9th AF and 323rd bombing accuracy assessment reports put Stach in Box III (noting that the Box III. 1st 4 Did Not Bomb). I'm sorting all of this out on Power Point Slides, which I'll send to you when I'm at a better stopping point. You might want to hold off on further analysis until you get the Power Point. I'll have to send it to you in PDF format so that the file isn't too large to send. Jan
Pat, Sent the PDF to you via e-mail. It will be easier for you to work with. Let me know if you don't get or can't open it. Thanks, Jan
Note - Swan was in the 4 slot, flying off the Hunt crew's wing, in Box II. Tex was on Hunt's crew. A few of the details Moench includes do not jive with the documentary evidence. I'm not sure where he got his data.
