Hi everybody, A long time lurker on this wonderful forum but I finally registered last night. I recognise a number of other forum members who have such a wealth of information. My interests revolve around the Troop Carriers and the 101st Airborne in Normandy. I live some 18-20 miles from the airfields of Ramsbury, Membury and Welford and that's where my interests in the Troop Carriers began. I run a little Facebook page called 'Honouring IX Troop Carrier Command' where Patrick and Hans will always ensure I have the correct info. Thank you gents, it is always appreciated. I am especially enjoying the threads regarding the Horsa landings. What a fantastic machine and what skill by the Glider Pilots to land such a beast in the fields of Normandy. Work wise, I am a SNCO aircraft engineer in the RAF working on 99 Squadrons' C-17 Globemaster transports. They keep me busy!! Anyway, I hope to contribute in some shape or form. Neil.
You are very welcome Neil, Glad to have another RAF family member on our books. I don't suppose there are any old dusty recon photos lurking in an obscure corner of those three airfields Regards, Pat
Welcome to the board Neil. As for Facebook, we have just erected a Facebook group supporting this forum, too Francois
Welcome, Neil. We did chat briefly in the Blue Boar last month. Well done with the event, by the way. Cheers, Sean
